I am a graduate of the University of Tehran in the field of political science, with a major in political sociology. I have been teaching the following courses for about 25 years: political sociology, sociology of development, and theories of revolution and social movements at various universities, and I hold the rank of professor. My research interests, in addition to theoretical discussions in the three aforementioned fields, include studies of society, history, and social and cultural trends in Iran, as well as on a wider global level. I am interested in casecomparative studies on: - State, political systems, governments, parties, and civil society - State-society relations, solidarityconflict - Developmentunderdevelopment trends and issues - Social, political, economic, and cultural crises - Study of discourses and genealogies of important events, subjects, and issues in human life
